Annalisa Lawrence (b. Tasmania, Australia) is a figurative painter based in Newcastle, New South Wales. Her practice explores the psychological space between solitude and belonging, translating the quiet rituals of coastal life into compositions that balance intimacy with ambiguity.
Working primarily in acrylic on linen, Lawrence creates paintings distinguished by faceless figures and atmospheres of implied landscape. Informed by decades spent between the Australian shoreline and Indonesia, her work examines how place imprints itself through gesture, rhythm, and the architecture of daily devotion.
Lawrence has exhibited with Gallery Alchemy, Leighton Contemporary, and Manyung Gallery. Her work has been featured in Belle, Inside Out, and The Local Project, and is held in private collections throughout Australia, the United States, and Europe.
