God of the Water
There’s a moment in the ocean when you stop fighting and just let the water take you. Maybe it’s slipping under a wave, your body moving without thought. Maybe it’s the way salt clings to your skin, a quiet reminder that you’ve been held by something bigger than yourself. That feeling—of trust, of surrender, of being carried—found its way into this painting.
Somewhere in the process, words from Sat Narayan surfaced. It’s a mantra about flow, about the energy that sustains and nourishes. God of the water, True Sustainer. The ocean has always felt like a kind of divinity to me—powerful, steady, alive.
They’re not bold or loud. They’re subtly scratched into the surface, barely there—like a thought just beneath the skin, like the energy we carry without speaking. The feeling we leave behind in a room, in the water, in each other.
This piece is more abstract than usual, but maybe that’s the point. Not everything needs to be clear. Some things are meant to be felt. Like the pull of a tide. Like the way light moves across water. Like the deep knowing that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
