Below is an artist statement about the work.

“The thread is intended as an aureole ...a reference to the halo often seen in depictions of Madonna in religious art. It's a way of marking the moment, without overstating it. She's placed exactly where the wave begins to lift, holding that brief point of suspension between herself and the ocean. It's the kind of encounter that edges into the sacred - not in a symbolic sense, but in the felt experience of presence,
rhythm, and alignment.”
